The Hermitage is a land lease community, a residential community designed for over 55s where residents own their home but lease the land it sits on under a long-term agreement.
This allows residents to enjoy the benefits of home ownership without the cost of buying the land, often making it a more affordable option. Residents also benefit from a secure, typically gated environment, a variety of facilities, management support, and a friendly community of neighbours at a similar life stage.
Residents of The Hermitage will enjoy extensive amenities, including The Retreat, a private clubhouse with a lounge and dining areas, swimming pool and a wellness gym. Outdoor facilities are equally impressive, featuring a bowling green, pickleball courts, a community garden, pocket parks, dedicated caravan parking (at additional cost) and a central lake.
As the community grows, these facilities will be thoughtfully introduced in stages, creating an evolving lifestyle offering for residents to enjoy.
Yes, The Hermitage will have dedicated space for RV/caravan parking, but all homes will have garages to suit a standard car.
RV/caravan parking will be subject to availability and application and costs are in addition to the site fee.
Buying into The Hermitage will involve paying an upfront cost for the home – usually comprising an initial deposit with the balance payable upon settlement. This cost varies depending on the chosen home design, its location and proximity to facilities, and which stage of the community it falls into.
Once you’ve purchased, you will also be responsible for an ongoing fee, which covers the lease of the land your home sits on, along with council rates and other costs involved with the maintenance and operation of the community.
Yes, the site fee will typically increase by a fixed percentage each year, to maintain parity with the rising cost of goods and services. Further details will be available ahead of the first sales release.
Because you are leasing the land your home sits on, under the land lease model, you may be eligible for Federal Government Rent Assistance to subsidise the weekly fee and reduce your ongoing costs. Eligibility is dependent on your individual financial circumstances – you can find out more at servicesaustralia.gov.au/rent-assistance
A temporary clubhouse will be available and operational when the first residents move into the community. It will contain a range of private spaces for resident use along with some public facilities as part of the golf offering. The private resident clubhouse, The Retreat is due to be complete as part of the Stonehurst Precinct.
We recognise that many communities offer a moderate discount on site fees prior to facility delivery, and will provide further information on any discounts for early residents at The Hermitage alongside details about the site fees in due course.
